Carlow - Day Four

Wednesday brought us back to the countryside.  Part of Melissa's family immigrated from County Carlow, so we decided to explore the town.  Not too much to see, but it made for a nice day away from the city.

The old castle in Carlow.  This is all that's left of it.  They were bulding high-rise apartments across the street.

The Living Tree - a fountain in the town centre.  It's difficult to see in this photo, but there are skeletons on the tree trunk.

So that's how they make those garden trees flat.  Huh.

 The local church.

These guys swam all the way across the river when they saw us coming.  Sorry, guys.  No baguette for you!

We only spent half a day in Carlow, but it was nice to breath some fresh air again!  You don't realize how dirty city air is until you blow your nose.
