Trinity College and the Shopping District - Day Three
On Tuesday, we decided to take things a little slower. So we crossed the river to see Trinity College in the morning and did some shopping in the afternoon. We didn't get to see the Book of Kells in the old library because the admission price was a little steep, but we still got the enjoy the campus.
The buildings at Trinity.

And here was have the statue of Molly Malone. While no proof over actual existance has been found, she remains a legend in Dublin. Her song, depicting her life (and afterlife) as a fishmonger, is still sung today in pubs and sporting events. This statue was created for the cities centennial celebration in 1987.

There was an old man who sits by the statue everyday, plays his Irish drum, takes pictures for the tourists who want to pose, and points out places of interest in the area. He helped us find a couple of stores with woolen wear. I found a nice scarf to keep me warm on these long, cold Welsh nights.
