Dear Bill- Yes, Robert Byrd IS a racist!

Bill Muller of the USD Dems wanted proof that Robert Byrd is a racist. Here you go, Bill!!

In fact, Byrd was actually a LEADER in his local klan, the Grand Dragon!

He can apologize all he wants. He's still a racist.

Reaction to the Democrats' reaction to the State of the Union

I'm currently watching Kathleen Sebelius, Governor of Kansas, for the Democratic response to President Bush's State of the Union Address.

Her speechwriters are smart. They had her begin with a phrase basically stating that the response wasn't a "Democratic response," but an "American response." She keeps talking about the "new American majority." BULL. In fact, every other sentence of this trite rhetorical diatribe is a blueprint for the ultra-liberal Democratic platform.

My favorite dumb quote so far: "I know government can work, Mr. President, because I grew up in family dedicated to public service." Hello? Have you heard of the Bush family? Their history exemplifies public service. Moreover, go tell a citizen of the former Soviet Union that your obtrusive nanny state- government can work.

I want to keep watching this, but I also want to keep down my dinner. Oh- it just ended. THANK GOD.

CONGRESSIONAL DEMOCRATS FLOUNDER AS IRAQ SITUATION IMPROVES

Democratic supporters are caring less and less about Iraq as an issue, reports Politico: http://www.politico.com/news/stories/1107/7109.html
-
"Rep. Michael E. Capuano, an anti-war Democrat from Massachusetts, said only three of 64 callers on a town hall teleconference asked about Iraq, a reflection that the war may be losing power as a hot-button issue in his strongly Democratic district."
-
"In an interview with Politico, House Majority Leader Steny H. Hoyer (D-Md.) attributed the change to a recent reduction of violence and media coverage of the conflict, saying there is scant evidence that more fundamental problems with the Bush administration’s policy are improving."
-
How is that, Steny? Even Murtha says the surge is working! Yes, there are still issues to overcome, but things are looking up, at least.
-
"For now, voters appear more upbeat as the war’s progress than at any point this year. The nonpartisan Pew Research Center for the People and the Press released a report this week showing that nearly half of Americans believe the military operation is going well — an 18-point increase since February. You have to go back to the days before the last election, in 2006, to find Americans feeling this positively about the war effort."
-
-
-
'“Democrats made a strategic calculation last January that has proven to be dead wrong,” said Kevin Smith, a spokesman for Minority Leader John A. Boehner (R-Ohio). “Their message of failure and retreat makes little sense in light of our troops’ remarkable progress, and the American people are responding to their successes.”'

The rich get richer...

This is an interesting report: It seems that the Democratic Party become the party of the rich and ultra-rich (read: George Soros). The Washington Times reports that: "In a state-by-state, district-by-district comparison of wealth concentrations based on Internal Revenue Service income data, Michael Franc, vice president of government relations at the Heritage Foundation, found that the majority of the nation's wealthiest congressional jurisdictions were represented by Democrats."
