Crazy caucuses
I just returned from the Iowa Caucuses. It was, to be honest, incredibly exhausting. There was debate and consensus and more debate- my kind of fun.
I was elected precinct captain for my precinct, Sioux City 27. In our little group, Huckabee won by two votes over Romney.
While I'm keeping this short- I won't say anything that hasn't already been said by Fox, MSNBC, or CNN- I will say this:
Obama did well here, and pundits can speculate to their hearts' content. Like Ryan of the USD Dems, I think Hil-Dog will come back with a vengeance between now and Super Tuesday.
I watched Obama's speech this evening and it was quite good- he's a great speaker. One thing was glaringly obvious: he was trying to cover his tired, nanny-state rhetoric with the mantra of "change and hope." Don't get me wrong, these are fresh ideas and he did an excellent job presenting them. but the truth is, he's no different than the other Dems- free health care to everyone, abandon Iraq, all the while taking more freedoms from the American people.
It will be an uphill battle, but the right candidate can get America to see the truth behind this populist rhetoric, and we will win the White House.

It must suck to know that despite all your efforts - Bush/Cheney have sunk the ship. There's 0% chance a Republican will take the Oval Office.
The real race is with the Democrats - and I'll take ANYTHING but Hillary.

Douglas is misguided, yet again.
You're thinking one-dimensionally. The Republicans are looking for someone who will determine the direction of the party; either evangelical Christian or fiscally conservative.
The Democrats have all been spouting the same socialistic banter, so there is no real choice there.
Bush is the history of the Republican Party. We're looking toward the future. The Democrats, conversely, keep looking back to Karl Marx.
