You're entitled to your ignorant opinion and I applaud you for going out on a limb and saying things that you personally believe but have no resemblance to reality whatsoever, Matt.
EARTH DAY is NOT imposed upon anyone by Washington D.C.
EARTH DAY is not a Federal holiday - just a day of Earth awareness and education - reminding people that we each need to do our individual parts to keep our planet clean, healthy and viable.
We didn't ask nor plan to have the anti-Hyperion people put up camp next to us - that wasn't a part of our celebration of the Earth's health and future - even if I did personally agreed with their message.
So if you find some kind of sinister conspiracy in that - than that's your paranoia - not mine.
I did enjoy your article though, Matt - in fact - our whole IdEA class read it aloud and laughed ourselves silly - some of us to tears even with each ludicrous paragraph of nonsense at your "totally missing the point" ranting.
But again, I do respect your right to remain ignorant and say whatever foolish things you like.
And my personal parting advice is this: maybe you shouldn't carry a bullet in the chamber of the gun Deputy Fife!
Matt - it's been a honor and a pleasure debating you these past two semesters. I look forward to continuing our verbal duels in the Fall. There is never any personal affront or insult intended towards you. I truly only view our scraps as a clash between ideas - not individuals. In fact, I would die defending YOUR right to put my values down. Take care, be safe and have a great summer!

I never said it was a federal holiday, Douglas. You should have read it more closely.
I'm glad you read it in your Idea class. Those things are such a waste of time, it's good you received SOME utility out of it.
All I ask is that my work is read- not that it's agreed with.
