beginning beingsingle christmas december family illness new presents school work

happy december!

December 08, 2008 by Alexandrina Rezac

Alright, I know it's already partly done, but Happy December! Are you ready for the end of '08? Wow! Well it's coming, ready or not! I totally am! With it, 2009 will bring new opportunities! A new year = a fresh start! But before that there's Christmas! :) I'm sure Vermillion's going to be pretty dead for the break, that's always sort of an eerie feeling. This town is completely empty without the hoards of college kids!

So what are your plans for the holidays? Mine? I'm going to become a work-a-holic for a month. Ah the classic college debts, no fun at all. But I am glad for one thing...This is my first Christmas in...years that I haven't had a boyfriend to give a gift to. And you know what...It's surprisingly refreshing. I am embracing my newly found singledom and celebrating! I'm celebrating the fact that new I can hone all of my creative holiday crafting into gifts for my family and friends! It should be good.

Have you ever had the phrase "when it rains, it pours" apply in your life? To me, it's when guys choose to make 'a move' on me, it seems like it'll be forever since someone said anything, and then all of the sudden *wham* tons (ok, like 2 or 3) start paying attention! Wow, overwhelming! Haha, don't get me wrong, it's totally flattering, but still overwhelming at the same time! But like I said, I'm going to embrace being single, at least for a while. Or until I find Mr. Right. *shrugs* I'm a hopeless romantic! Who am I to turn down the possiblility!?

Until next time! Later Daze!

whistle while you work

December 01, 2008 by Alexandrina Rezac

I would whistle, if I could. But whistling into my headset wouldn't please too many customers. Anyway...so I'm just passing the time while making a few bucks. I'm basically over being ill. Good news! It was tonsillitis! Bad new: They didn't have to take them out. Dang! I really do want my tonsils out once and for all!!! But a good dose of antibiotics and I'm doing pretty good!

Three weeks of school left for '08! Only 15 days! Sheesh, where'd all the time go? This happens to me all the time, I think time's going by so slowly, but then all of the sudden -WHOOSH- it's Christmas already! And I haven't even done any shopping yet!

I had a dream recently that I went shopping in the Mall of America on Black Friday! Gasp!!! You couldn't pay me -ok, maybe you could- to go to a crazy shopping place on the worst day to shop ever! What's wrong with people!? Trampoling WalMart employees, scaring that person enough to have a heart attack and die?! How is that ok? (http://abclocal.go.com/wabc/story?section=news/local&id=6529135) *shakes head*

Anyway...I'm ready for this semester to be over. How about you? Do you feel prepared for the end of the semester? I know sometimes I panic a little, not knowing what'll come next. I do know that my holiday break will entail a LOT of working...and hopefully some Christmas-song-whistling! :)

PS. Have you ever watched the Showtime show "Weeds"? I've just watched the first season and am about halfway through the second. It's a very interesting show! What are your thoughts on it?

the beginning...

November 25, 2008 by Alexandrina Rezac

So, even though it's well over halfway through the first semester of my fourth year here...I'm getting the feeling it's time for a new beginging. I've had some tough falls in the past academically and I just need to knock it off! haha, easier said than done, I think. For some reason, if I don't have someone breathing down my neck to get to class...usually I'm very persuaded by my own mind to just stay in bed...

Luckily though I am sick now. I know, that doesn't seem lucky, and trust me, it didn't feel lucky until now. Now I'm starting to get better and I'm glad that the worst is beind me...Man that weekend on the couch was horrifying. ;)But really, I got to miss classes without even having to come up with anything. Brilliant!

But I've decided (as I do every late November) to pick myself up by the bootstraps and try to salvage what I can for this semester. Eesh! Wish me luck.

But for now, I'm headed to the doctors in, oh, roughly 40 min. Let's just make sure I don't have Tonsilitus, we've already ruled out the Flu, Menegitus and Strep! Who the hell knows what's wrong with me!
