Karen Rahn, a DWP 2006 teacher-consultant and the DWP 2007 Summer Institute Co-Director, was selected as Teacher of the Year at Rutland Public School recently.
Karen received the good news at a school awards banquet on Friday, May 4th, 2007. She mentioned that her work with the Dakota Writing Project this year played a part in her receiving the recognition.
Karen has taught high school English for six years at Rutland. Her extracurricular activities include being faculty advisor for oral interpretation, the yearbook, and the school newspaper. Before Rutland, she taught at Madison and Vermillion. Karen received her Bachelor of Science in Education degree from the University of South Dakota in 1982.
