Writing Center Summer Hours

Would you like feedback on your writing from a savvy, experienced writing consultant?

The University Writing Center has summer hours to assist with writing and ESL conversation, from May 21, 2012 through July 20, 2012. Any current USD student, staff member, or faculty member is welcome in the Writing Center.

Our summer hours are as follows:

  • Monday, Wednesday, Friday 10 a.m. - 1 p.m.
  • Tuesdays 2 p.m. - 4 p.m.

Students taking distance courses can also get help by logging into the Online Writing Center in D2L or by Skyping with us during our open hours (Skype contact: usdwritingcenter01). You can also email us at wcenter@usd-DOT-edu 24/7, call us during our open hours at 605-677-5626, or drop by the Writing Center, room 133, Academic Commons, I. D. Weeks Library.

 

Shakespeare Festival June 8-10, 2012

The South Dakota Shakespeare Festival takes place June 8, 9, and 10, 2012 at the University of South Dakota in Vermillion. The festival features theatre workshops for young people, a scholars' roundtable, and an outdoor performance of Shakespeare's As You Like It. The festival is free and open to the general public.

The Scholars' Roundtable, scheduled for Saturday, June 9, from 3 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. in Farber Hall (Old Main), will feature the USD English Department's Professor Darlene Farabee, along with Lois Potter, emeritus professor of Shakespeare at the University of Delaware, and Peter Kanelos, Shakespeare professor in the Department of Fine Arts at Loyola University. They will discuss Shakespeare's As You Like It.
