April 8- The Casino Indsutry- Dinner for One

I have a love/ hate relationship in my life; with my job. I love the action and excitement. The thrills and highs. i hate lows and losses and seeing good people throw away too much money. Most of our gamblers are not the National Lampoon style where they bet the house, but we have many who you just want to scream at "get the fu*ck out of here you aren't going to win it back becasue you just keep giving it back!" Sadly My salary depends on them staying and tipping me, as long as I deal good cards... which amazingly seems to coincide with the people who put out the tips.... i still can't figure that one out. I will not divulge anymore casino secrets, it would disturb those of you not in the industry. The downer: working almost all holidays. I am currently at home, on easter. My family gets together for every single holiday. RIght now they are feasting, and yes, we still hunt easter eggs even though me and my cousins are all over 20. We are a family steeped in tradition. I can see why holidays make people depressed. Well I am going to go and make an eggo waffle now... so pathetic. However it is the life I chose. Those of you with regular 9-5 jobs, be happy. You get you nights and holidays. Someday I hope to get a m-f, 9-5 job. It is a sad dream but if you dont know what a blessing a normal job is, then you have never worked a 12 hour graveyard shift. Man is not a noctournal animal, and while some may disagree in their minds, try telling your body that. Waffle time
