Down with the Haters!

A friend of mine, Clark/ Jacob Henry is forming the Secular Student alliance.... and everyone is hating it. i really think that it is time for people to act like the mature adults we pretend to be 10% of the time (5% for me) and listen a little. There are people out there with all sorts of beliefs... they do exists, Vermilion is not the cultural hub of the world (surprise!) and unless you are one of the people who has no questions about anything in life, you should come to a meeting sometime. If you are one of those people... wow. I envy your sure-mindedness and pity your close-mindedness. The Secular Student Alliance is about engaging in intelligent debate over topics that may make some people uncomfortable. In my line of work we call that passion. If you have nothing you feel strongly about then you suck, get off my blog. The discussions that are intended to arise are purely for educational benefit and to try and expand your own mind and the minds of those around you. It provides different viewpoints. It is debate without the intention of aggravation. if you are mature, you can handle this, and if you get mad, trust me, a couple minutes later we will laugh about it over a beer. As a fine arts student I love to explore new things, ideas, ways of viewing the world. it is always interesting to hear from others who have a different way of walking life. The law students I hang with are always arguing... it is wonderful! The goal is debate and mind expansion. If you actually like talking about more than hair color and breast size of that girl in your class then this may be something to check out. it is information, not pressure to suddenly stop believing what you believe and become a advocate for demonic worship! For that matter, down with uninformed haters, live in your bubble, and may it never pop... or you will end up covered in all the crap you let stick to the outside... like poop.
