The Retardation of the Media...
Has anyone else noticed the news lately? I don't read the newpapers much because the news is usually emphasizing the bad things and leaves the good things for the "hometown" section. I have been catching glimpses of news for the last couple weeks and i am sure I am not the only person disgusted with the constant converage and debate over "THE PARIS HILTON JAILING!!!" The rest of the world has stood still because a celebrity was jailed for drunk driving. I have no idea what has happend in Iraq, I know Bush vetoed a bill on Stem cell Research which flashed across the screen for half a second before turning back to Paris hugging her mom after she is released from jail. AND WORSE>>> They have debated over this crap, wether it was right to jail her... why is this a debate? she drove drunk, ran a stoplight and could have killed someone and since she is rich she should be let free? I was pleased by the poll that CNN took over if the judge made the right decision to make her serve her time. 95% said he made the right decision, to the other 5% WHAT THE FU*K! Aside from that i am disgusted by the moment by moment coverage of Paris. The news stations have forgotten that the tabloids exist for a reason, so that they dont have to cover crap like this and can let us know what is going on the the real world, not just Hollywood.

Totally agree. Way too much coverage of Paris... although I must confess that I watched her ass get hauled back to the judge and was strangely happy when I learned she was sent back to jail screaming.
But yeah... priorities are way off. What's up with all these stories about some person getting kidnapped or murdered? Who fucking cares. I dont care if someone in Texas gets murdered. I feel bad for them but that's not what I want my national news agencies reporting on!

I think the New York Daily News had the best front page for the Paris story. A full-page shot of her crying in the copcar, and in large bold white letters "I WANT MY MOMMY!"
Heheh
