I was flipping through the channels tonight and when I stopped by CBS they were doing a nightly news report about how the Pentagon audit came back with  1 BILLION dollars worth of equipment missing. Missing equipment included: tank recovery vehicles, handguns, assault rifles, ROCKET PROPELLED GRENADE LAUNCHERS, tractor trailers, and CRATES OF MACHINE GUNS! The link to the article, which also contains a PDF form of the report can be found here. This begs the question: where is all this stuff? I mean how does one seriously "misplace" a tractor trailer?

They could not account for 18 of 31 of the recovery vehicles valued at 10.2 million dollars each. They could not find 2,126 of the 2,943 generators that were purchased for 7 million dollars each. They did not find 6 of 18 garbage trucks, how do you lose a garbage truck!!!! For more things that are missing read the full report found here.

We must hold our government to much higher standards than this. They keep demanding more funding for this war, but when the things are ordered they disappear. This is our money as taxpayers that is being spent and we should expect better from our government. This is not a partisian issue, it is an issue that we as Americans should unite around and DEMAND our government to explain. After all it is our money that is being used.

Lets, as Democrats, Republicans, Independents, Greens, Libertarians or whatever party you belong to unite as one body and get answers from our government and not let them dodge around the hard questions or issues. We must unite and hold our government responsible for their actions. What would our founding fathers have done in this situation? They would not have stood by and watched the government wastefully spend their money, and neither should we. They would have been outraged and demanded answers as we should today.
