Laziness, Joel Dykstra and the continuing Lies about this Economic Crisis
When a person keeps repeating a lie despite truths staring them in the face - This is foolishness.
When a person keeps citing one study when that study has been largely debunked - this is laziness.
When people focus on largely meaningless facts while ignoring the omnious sword above their heads - this is pettiness and lack of foresight.
Well, I can now safely say that the good folks at Dakota War College and US Senate candidate Joel Dykstra might be all three.
This is a debunking of the oft-cited study about the amount of money certain politicians have gotten from Fannie and Freddie. Not only are the contributions a tiny fraction of the total warchest of candidates like Senator Tim Johnson, but the fact that the study BLATANTLY ignores the contributions of executives to campaigns while counting those of employees make it a deeply flawed study. When include the money donated by Fannie and Freddie EXECUTIVES*, the Republican party have benefited much more from this semi-governmental conglomerate than Democrats.
But you know what folks? This doesn't matter. This problem is a much bigger problem than Fannie and Freddie or Earmarks or tax credits any of the other asnine political stunts either side wants to pull. This is a problem of credit markets, illiquid banks, unavailable mortgages, job losses and the lack of consumer confidence. Sending Joel Dykstra to the Senate will not fix this - according to this video, I don't even think State Senator Dykstra knows what "conservative market values" mean.
Instead of trying to cite small, insignificant personal attacks, help explain the economic collapse in actual terms, and not just buzzwords Senator Dykstra because I don't think you have any idea what caused this crisis and how the markets actually works.
And one more thing, anyone found the new regulations created by S.190 yet? I sent copies of it to Senator Dykstra's office asking for help, but I haven't heard back from anyone yet. If you want to make a claim, have the decency of finding evidence to support it.
Thanks
